Grandma Noel

I am so blessed to have such a great mother. She also happens to make a wonderful Grandmother as well. She came to visit for the boys second birthday, and we really had a lot of fun. My favorite thing about her coming is....... I get to be sooo selfish with her time. She has NO housework to do and no other children or grandchildren to play with. No shopping to get done, or appointments to get too. So we get her all to ourselves, and we LOVE IT!!

Thanks mom for teaching me to sew.....and buying me a sewing machine.
For sharing some of your best recipes with me....and then making them for our family.
For our long talks, and for playing with my boys, for letting Matt and I go on a date, and for taking me on a date!! Also, thank you for my favorite new bowl. You really are such a wonderful mother and will forever be a BEST FRIEND!!

No sleep but LOTS of fun!

A couple of months ago I didn't even like Matt's idea of camping with the boys in our own living room, so who knew I would agree to an actual overnight camping trip. Matt spent the whole week before the trip telling the boys all about how we were going camping. He even set up the tent to show them where we would all be sleeping. I guess they really did know what we were talking about because I have never seen them happier than in the car on our way to go camping. It was all smiles and giggles until we had to come home after 5 minutes of driving since Matt forgot his wallet. Daniel cried so hard when he saw our house, I guess he was thinking our 5 minute car trip wasn't exactly what he had in mind when we told him we were going camping. You can't reason with a two year old so he cried up until he realized that we were on our way again, and we were just stopping at home for a minute.

The boys had so much fun running around our campsite and exploring with their cute girlfriends from our ward. They loved the campfire and of course the tent. The cutest part of it all happened when we decided to put the boys to bed. They have never slept outside of a crib and we worried they may not want to go to sleep and they might be scared because it was so dark. So we tucked them into the sleeping bags and told them goodnight. Matt and I wanted to sit with our friends by the fire. We didn't get but 5 feet from the tent before we heard giggles and squeals of excitement. We saw heads protruding against the sides of the tent and little heads poking up looking out at us through the screen of the tent. They were certainly having their own little party and all we could do was laugh. I don't blame them, it's like they were celebrating their first night sleeping together and not being caged in a crib.

Before long they dropped from exhaustion and we later joined them. It's amazing how two small little boys seem to take up all the good sleeping space, it left Matt and I pretty uncomfortable. I'm just thankful we don't share a bed with them at home! Although, it was a great feeling all sleeping together enjoying the sounds of nature and the beautiful stars in the sky. There is nothing like camping, it's like every little boys dream. We can't wait to do a whole lot more of it in the future.

This is what it takes for the Lorz family to go camping for just ONE night!
Daniel seems a little unsure about being tied down to a girlfriend at such a young age.

Who doesn't love peanut butter and jelly dipped in ketchup....I guess anything goes when your camping.......yum!
Lots of exploring. There is no better toy than a stick.
Enjoying the campfire. This is our campsite.

This is how we left the boys when we tucked them in.

This is what we came back to find.

Swimming suits and smoothies

Everyday the boys want to wear their swimming suits even when we have NO plans for swimming. It's a good thing they were wearing them on this particular day since they needed to be hosed off after their smoothies. What could be better than eating smoothie right off of your own belly. I guess they didn't want any to go to waste.

YAY!!! For smoothies.

Two little boys turn two

Two years ago at this time I was COMPLETELY overwhelmed wondering how in the world I was going to take care of two very different little babies. Of course we felt blessed but we really had NO idea what we were doing. Honestly I am just thankful that we made it two years and we are all still alive and happy! I can't explain how much I have fallen in love with these special little boys. They continue to amaze me everyday with their capacity to learn and love. Things are getting easier or I am just getting more use to being a mother, either way I would not trade this opportunity for anything. I loved these babies from the moment I knew they existed and I did not realize how much that love would grow with every day that I am their mother.

In the beginning it was sleepless nights and delirious days. It was late night feedings and double the crying(triple if you count me too), It was lots of dirty diapers, feedings, burpings, and praying. Now it is still a Lot of work but a lot more giggles, hugs, kisses, playing, singing, reading, and trying to enjoy each moment knowing that the years and the stages do pass by very quickly.

Happy Birthday Nathan and Daniel. Thank you for a very fun day and for making our lives so bright!
