Matt was only given a two week notice that he was accepted at the U of U before the semester started. We were already out in Utah visiting for the holidays. So, this move was a very stressful one. We had just a few days to pack, clean, sell our explorer, rent a moving truck, and drive all the way across the country....praying that we didn't get into any bad weather!
We drove three days straight in a huge, very uncomfortable moving truck. We stopped late at night to stay at any hotel we could find and then woke up early to start the driving all over again. We went through Florida, Alabama, Mississippi, Louisiana, Texas, New Mexico, a small part of Colorado, and the finally Utah....YAY! It's amazing how your body and muscles can be SO sore, just from sitting all day long.
I have to say with the stress of Matthew driving the huge truck and pulling a car, and me trying to navigate between the atlas and our mapquest directions, we did very well with very little arguing:) It was actually pretty fun sitting next to Matt having conversations not interrupted by two little munchkins!
Amidst all the chaos we still found some time to celebrate with our own little crab feast eaten on top of a cardboard moving box.

I have made that drive sooo many times, but starting in AL, which saves about 7 hours! It is miserable! I am excited that you are back though!
I'm so happy you blogged again. Glad you survived the long drive across the country. The southern route is the only way to go in the winter. Stay warm!
Glad you are in Utah, now we need to set some dates to meet in the middle and do lunch or dinner:)
