The Big Move.

Matt was only given a two week notice that he was accepted at the U of U before the semester started. We were already out in Utah visiting for the holidays. So, this move was a very stressful one. We had just a few days to pack, clean, sell our explorer, rent a moving truck, and drive all the way across the country....praying that we didn't get into any bad weather!

We drove three days straight in a huge, very uncomfortable moving truck. We stopped late at night to stay at any hotel we could find and then woke up early to start the driving all over again. We went through Florida, Alabama, Mississippi, Louisiana, Texas, New Mexico, a small part of Colorado, and the finally Utah....YAY! It's amazing how your body and muscles can be SO sore, just from sitting all day long.

I have to say with the stress of Matthew driving the huge truck and pulling a car, and me trying to navigate between the atlas and our mapquest directions, we did very well with very little arguing:) It was actually pretty fun sitting next to Matt having conversations not interrupted by two little munchkins!

Amidst all the chaos we still found some time to celebrate with our own little crab feast eaten on top of a cardboard moving box.

What I will miss about Florida, and my one new years resolution.

Matthew was accepted to the University of Utah as a visiting student for his last semester of Law school. Leaving Florida earlier than expected was a really hard decision for us to make. Life will be a lot harder for us living here than it was for us there. We were not able to get out of our lease so we are still paying rent in Florida until they are able to rent it out, which means we have to live with our good ol' folks until we can afford a place of our own. Matt is staying in Salt lake with his Aunt and Uncle while I am living with his mom in Logan. My mother-in-law's house has more bedrooms upstairs so it is a little more suited to our needs, than my own parents home. We left friends, a nice home, a great school, and much more to live here seperated and only able to see each other on weekends. It will be hard, but we felt it was a good opportunity for Matt and a better way to find a job in Utah.

A piece of my heart will always belong in Florida. For my official goodbye to Florida I have created my top ten list of favorite florida memories.

10- Southern Hospitality....... we found out really quick it is a real thing, and it is wonderful.
9- my cute townhouse with the best neighbors ever.
8- Florida coastal school of Law, it was a good school for Matt. and close to our home.
7- I will miss the people who drive around listening to their southern preachers, preaching about hell, fire, and damnation as loud as possible with their windows rolled down.
6- I love how people sing their soul music as loud as they want to whenever they want to. In the isle at Walmart, at the park, wherever, they don't care they just want to get their groove on.
5- I will miss having my season pass to the best Zoo ever that sells the worlds greatest snow cones.
4- I will miss the beach and the weather.
3- I will miss having so many activities to do with my boys. Storytime at the library, playgroup, exercise class, and husbandless dinners every week with ward friends.
2- I miss my ward that became like family and my calling in the primary presidency.
1- I will really miss all my great friends that I learned so much from and that changed me for the better.

This year is going to be full of change. Moving across the country, moving back in with parents, living away from my husband, looking for a job, so much uncertainty, but so much to look forward too.

My Goal for 2010 make the best of everything and just SURVIVE!!
